I make custom fishing tackle boxes regularly, but rarely for me. I had a bit of quilted mahogany left from a previous build and decided to make a slightly shorter jig box as a result. I have made ten of these for others and now I have one. This weekend it will see its first voyage to catch big bluefin, yellowtail and rockfish - all fish I love to catch. It was loaded with 50 jigs after these photos were taken.

Pretty good rainy cold shop day adding the hardware to this tackle box, packing for the fishing trip and turning/assembling five alumilite sierras.

Success!

This is the largest "red" rockfish I have ever caught and I have caught a lot of them over the years. The jig box nicely held over 50 jigs one of which fooled this fish into eating it. It was caught at a depth of 600 feet in Mexico on the... wait for it... Vagabond Sportfishing boat.
