I really need to learn how to take pictures

I tried and tried to get a shot of the shine on this ring, but no matter what I did I could not capture it. these pics don't do it justice. In fact the pic with the lights off shows the sine better than the one with the lights on - lol.

Anyways, first try at a ring, not sure what the wood is, it was a blank I got with a bunch of others in a "bottle stopper blank kit". The blue band is blue mica powder from Turners Warehouse with CA and Glow rocks embedded.

They have all the stuff you need, although I made my own mandrel instead of using theirs. It was just a pine dowel I turned down to wedge the core onto.
