I've been repurposing wooden cigar boxes into pen storage / display boxes as I find them. I sell them on etsy and use them for displays sometimes as well.

If anyone's interested, I made a video on how I make them. The major tools you'll need are a table saw and / or a miter / radial arm saw and a router table.

It's possible to make one without a router table, but better with, in my experience of trying both...

The video is about 10 minutes long...

Cigar boxes don't always have to be made of wood, you know.
I have a source for empty cigar boxes, wood & cardboard alike.
Just in case anyone is interested, simply let me know.

That's very true but I wouldn't expect to get nearly as much money or sell as well with cardboard ones.

I have a good stock right now but I'm usually on the lookout for the nicest wood ones I can find (in the right size range) with the fewest flaws.

Dan you're doing a good job on these videos, keep it up. You may want to throw links in your videos to your Etsy site on there too, I watch a lot of random youtube videos so it may not just be pen makers/woodworkers watching so could generate some business for you.
