Hello Everyone
This is a scroll saw project I made for our granddaughter Evelise. I believe it was made from Bubinga. The pattern came from here http://www.stevedgood.com/fretchair.pdf We are keeping it at our house until we can get a doll house built for her. The finish is 4 coat of shellac. Thanks for looking

Wow Thanks for more great comments on my little chair. Allen I use spray Shellac in all my scroll saw projects, I have thought about trying it on pens but I really like WTF and I'm not sure it I want to get away from that.

The spray shellac seems to leave a pretty nice finish. I used to use the spray lacquer, but put my scroll saw away when I bought my new lathe, so I haven't used much of anything! It may be time to make room for the scroll saw somewhere and get stocked up on Christmas ornaments ahead of the selling season.

How do you like working with shallac? I love working with it and have a couple of pens to try it on.

While shellac makes a nice finish to start with it doesn't stand up to the oil in your hand very long. I used it on the first few pens I made and had to refinish all of them within a year.

I was thinking that it might not hold up as well as other finishes. I mainly used it because my scroll saw project were used for food or by kids and I could finish them fast.
