I've made a batch of Harry Potter style wands for the kids in our neighborhood. Made from a variety of woods and most had a captive ring in the center. This one is oak with some glitter on the bottom and tip. They come with a card with a wizard on the front that says "The magic comes from your heart, not from the wand".
