Here is a series of small (4.25"w x 4.5"h) vases done in a Ginger jar style. These all came from a 4.75sq x 3 ' billet of Spanish Cedar. One end had a sap line the tapered down the billet and that's where I started. By the third blank all sap was gone, too bad, it sure made a nice contrast on the first two pieces. There is a 3/8" lip on the body the lids fit onto. Lids all have a medallion of Red Mallee inset 1/4", just make them interesting.

C&C Welcome

Beautiful artistry Albert.

The grain patterns are wonderful, as is the overall shape, with the top inserts.

Great effort. Thank you for posting, especially the final picture which is an aid for a future project.

Thanks for all the nice comments.
Funny that eharri446 mentioned Urns because they actually are parts of a set for someone that recently passed. Here is a complete set with the main Urn made of Magnolia w/ Red Mallee lid.
