I have wanted to get into knifemaking and bought a couple of kits some time ago as a first first step. As she is prone to do, my wife "organized" some of my stuff and I could not find one of the kits. Fast forward a year or so and I stumbled across the kit the other day. In my hardheaded way, I started with the harder of the 2 kits and did a little Damascus folding knife first. I used part of a true stone pen blank for the scales. The Damascus was a bear to sharpen.

I started making knives and switched to pens. Nice work on your folder. The TruStone isn't the most forgiving material. Be glad the blade was hard to sharpen, it means the steel is good and heat treated correctly. Welcome to another addiction.
