A couple of reel seat inserts I did a bit ago.

FYI only REC NSB Hardware and Cocobolo

Brown Mallee with the same hardware.

Flowering Plum From Australia with two types of cork. The hardware is hand engraved Sterling Silver and was done by a jeweler that I once worked with.

I am working on improving my photographs.

Wow! Those are beautiful! I am definately going to have to make my own rod in the next year! Thanks for the inspiration! I really like the style of the bottom picture. Where did you get the different types of cork? Have you ever considered making your own reel out of wood. It would probably be hard to create the drag, but out here in NC, most of the trout are too small to need drag...trout fishing primarily requires only something that can hold the line.

Thanks for the comments folks.

The different cork I by from a number of sources. Most often though from
http://www.rec.com/ since I have a wholesale account with them and they have great products. There are a lot of other good suppliers out there.

Yes I have considered making a reel out of wood and will get to it one day I hope.
Again thanks for the nice comments
