I just finished my first attempt at coring. 1hp is not enough to core properly but I got it done. Started with a 13" piece of fresh cut cherry and got 3 bowls out of it but lost bark on the middle one. Next one should be better.

I'd like to thank hilltoper46 for the wood and some advise on how to tackle this project.

I have a Jet 1442 and used the McNaughton system. Mike Mahoney makes it look so easy.
I have one more blank I may try tomorrow. This one is a little bigger and may not fit the lathe.

Coring has a very expensive learning curve Dave!!
I use a Jet 1642 1.5 and the One way. Much easier than the McN, but not as veratile. Living in the desert, only dry wood is available...but it works too!
