I usually do not double post and post my pens here and my bowls and other work on Sawmill creek but I could not resist on this one.

The bowl is end grain Carob and is about 11.5 inches across at the widest point and about 7 inches across on the narrowest point. The barl fell off so I used a pyrography pen to burn a stipple pattern on the rim.

Thanks everyone

Doghouse - Me neither I use a pyrography pen, a blow torch scares me.

Tim - Steve Dunn out of California comes to our turning club a couple tiems a year with a trailer full of wood for sale. I got this Carob from him but it is pretty plentiful around here as well.

You are making it tough. I've convinced myself to stick
to pens and an accasional "fish bonker" for the fishing
boat, then you show off this beauty and I get the urge to
branch out. Very nice work.

It looks like stuff will fall out of that big hole on the side.[:D] Just kidding. It is a freaking beautiful bowl. It looks as good or better than the stuff I saw at the show this weekend. By the way, it was nice to meet you Mike. I was in the segmenting class. I wish there were some pen classes there. The only pens I saw were from Anthony in the display room. He probably had to wipe my drool off of them.[:I]
