A friend of mine has a dead Camphor tree behind his house and he cut a small limb off to see if I could get creative and turn something out of it. So...Camphor limb candlesticks. The bases were turned from Sapele which is African Mahogany. The outside of the first set of candles is dipped wax but they're battery powered candles inside whereas the second set are real dipped wax candles. It would be nice if these became popular sellers on my Etsy site because I have a whole tree ready to be turned!

Camphor is a great turning wood & really makes your shop smell nice. Nice job on the candlesticks & congrats on the wood score.

Those candlesticks and the matching candles are rustic and beautiful. I really like the way you were able to leave some of the bark while exposing the wood's grains. Including the knots was a great idea too. Nice job!
