I've been keeping up with all the great pens on IAP behind the scenes but I drastically slowed down on making pens. However, I've still been in the shop trying to learn the art of knife making (stock removal way). I've been at it for about a year. Took a knife class with world famous Gil Hibbens. Him and his sons helped my learning curve quite a bit. Knives are buckeye burl and desert ironwood. The pen is segmented with left over handle material from the desert ironwood including the g10 spacer material. The pen style is an accord from woodcraft. Nice smooth twist motion on this pen. Thanks for looking.

Very nice! Lovely grind lines and finish. What steel are you using? Did you do the heat treat yourself? I love the differential heat treat on the first one--very "hamonish". Looks like Corby bolts in the scales? I'm very impressed. Oh, and the pen look great as well--I do love DIW.

Regards,
Michael

Thanks for the comments.
The steel is 1084. 1084 is the only steel I plan to heat treat (maybe 1095 as well) since it's so easy. As I do more blades beyond 1084 I plan to send them off for HT since I don't have an oven. Those are indeed corby bolts.

Thanks again.
Mike
