What is the wood in the handle for picture2 ? . How did you texture it ?

Hi Mal.

The wood is again Tamboti . Its a hardwood and fortunately for me I have access to a farm full of it in the North-en part for KZN (Natal Province).

The indentations was made with a Demel and polished out.

The wood is by nature very oily and extremely strong bt it works like dream as it has a very fine grain to it.

The wood finish is a wood oil and lots of rubbing and polishing.

Outstanding bow! Nice work...takes a lot of patience to get the limbs to curve the same.
I have that on my bucket list. I saved the directions to build one but the wood staves are rather expensive. I plan on looking for another wood that isn't so pricey.

Those are fantastic! I've got a good friend who's a sucker for nice recurve and long bows. He'd have to wipe the drool from his chin after seeing those pics.
