Black Cherry Something or Other

When I mounted this piece of wood on the lathe, I had no concept of what I was going to make. I still do not know what to call it: vase, hollow form, free form, etc. I did hollow the lower part so maybe I should go with hollow form. I am not sold on the shape but it was fun to try something different.

It does look like Cherry to me, and depending on the height, I might suggest a pen holder!

Nice form and the basic shape is very in proportion. Maybe a matching pen!

It's 4 1/2" tall and 4" in diameter at its widest point. Does look like a spittoon, aren't they a bit lager?

Yea, it would have to be bigger, chewers can't aim that well.
