Ash platter with Lilac and Alumilite inlay

This is a Ash platter with a Lilac and Alumilte inlay.
In this case I cast the lilac and deep red colored Alumilite in a 9"x1" mold. I turned a recess in the Ash platter, inlayed the casting and shaped the platter.
The finish is clear lacquer.
Dimensions are 13" x 1.75".

That is beautiful! If you love wood, this is a great platter. The cast really displays the Lilac. And, the insert is very complimentary.

I cast the lilac in a 9"x1" mold. It was about 7/8" thick after the trued it up and inlayed in it the platter. After I finished shaping the platter I expect the inlay is in the 3/8" thick range.
