I picked up some Tulip burl from the local sawmill. I got several pen blanks and had a few stopper sized leftovers of the less burl looking stuff. Here is one finished with CA.

LOL!! I finish with CA like I finish a bike tank or helmet with clear, WET!!!!

What I mean by wet is a medium to heavy coat. I first seal the wood prior to any sanding with a good wet coat of thin CA so it soaks in deep. After sanding, I coat with 3 heavy coats of CA, using accelerator between coats. I then wet sand (constant flow, not dipping) through 5 or 6 stages (finishing with 4000 grit) and then 3 stages of buffing ( rubbing compound then machine and finish glazes) followed with a coat of wax. Took me under 15 minutes to finish the stopper above. A lot less for pen blanks, even less for acrylic blanks.

Greg, you need to warn us old folks with old eyes, the glare almost knocked me off my chair. That is far and away the best CA finish to date.
