But I miss the pins...

I love the bowl. I have struggled with getting the bowl with equal lines between the layers.

I have been working the system/process of starting with a 4-5" thick blank; facing it off; while on the lathe, gluing the next layer; repeat 2-3X. This does give me a straight line for each layer. Do you have any suggestions?

I guess my question is: Do you glue-up your bowl before placing on the lathe? Or do you build a stack while on the lathe?

Thanks all!

This bowl is 2 3/4" in diameter by 2 1/4" tall. I glue up 3" square layers with epoxy before turning them. If the layers are all flat (a few pieces in this one had a slight warp) then I'm going to try using thick CA glue and excellerant to glue them together.

Steve...your bowl is AWESOME!!! I really like your design and finish! Small is better at times and always a welcome gift and certainly a quick sale. Thanks for sharing and safe turning to you always!
