I need help in finding a vacuum pump to stabilize some wood blanks for making pens (not on a commercial basis). I have watched several videos and several mentioned that the important rating is the level of vacuum. I also heard mention of 28 inches of Mercury as the necessary level of vacuum required for proper absorption of the stabilizing fluid.
I read several threads on this site that say that Harbor Freight vacuum pumps are adequate for wood stabilization. Is this one that is adequate?

Did I make an error in the conversion from Pascals to Inches of Mercury (10 Pa = 0.0028 InHg)? Please help with my confusion.
