Silly question on terms

I need some help with casting lingo. When I read "urethane resin" is that the same as poly resin? Does alumilite fell into this category?

Jorge,

Urethane resin and poly resin are not the same. Urethane resin is typically a 2 part system. Alumilite is a urethane resin. Poly resin is polyester resin such as Silmar 41 or Castin Craft. It is the same type of resin frequently used for fiberglass work and uses a base resin with a catalyst added before casting.
