I'm hoping to draw on the wealth of knowledge in this forum to help with a casting project. I want to cast some stoppers with a shape embedded in them. My idea is to cast a solid colour base to hide the threads and then embed an object in clear PR on top. Now here is where the problem comes in. The object will be taller than it is wide and the top will be wider than the base for it to stand on. Once I have the base poured and set, how do I get my object to stand up, centred in my blank? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated and I'll post a photo if and when I get it to work.

Thanks
Michael

When the base color gets jelled but before it is fully set place your object on and pressed into the base. Then pour the clear.

I've wanted to do this but I'm fearful of having bubbles in the clear without a pressure/vacuum pot.
