Mold release and wax cups

Because of my school auction buy, I now have 36 cans of silicon spray mold release.

Can this be used for helping release blank casts?

I also got a bunch of waxed paper cups with ounce measurements on the sides. I remember reading somewhere that the waxed cups were not a good idea for mixing resin in. Did I read right?

Yes and no, it depends on the formula and type of resin you are using. The wax cups are ok for PR, as wax in solution is added to gel coats, to make it non tacky. Haven't did casting in a long time so I can't help or the spray.

So for Casting Craft the cups will be alright?

I use the wax paper cups every day with PR. No ill results that I've ever seen. For the mold release I couldn't tell you, but there's one way to find out!
