Lida Lou Cameo

I am experimenting with making a cameo of my wife, Lida, using foil tape. This was my first attempt, I need to come up with a better tool for tracing the outline, a mechanical pencil is too fine and a ballpoint is too blunt. Nose too pointed and cheek bone accent looks like a scar. Does this show any promise?

Zero experience doing any thing like that , but would think you need several different point thicknesses to achieve what you want . Round cocktail toothpicks ?

I like the idea. Might be cool also to try a combo approach were you transfer an image to the foil (let's say a black and white zerox of the photo you're tracing), and then do your frame embellishments around it. I've heard you can Mod Podge xfer to foil, but haven't done it.

I know it's not what you were looking for, but it is an interesting effect. Looks sort of like an ancient Roman coin or something.
