Hi,

I was at a metal supply company last month and spied several 24" X 48" X 1" sheets of composite honeycomb.

I quickly coughed up the $15.00 for the sheet and began planning on how to make best use of this find.

In the end I mixed up some Alumilite and various colors of Pearl-Ex.

I drizzled the resin over the honeycomb in a silicone mold and stuck it in the pressure pot and impatiently waited until the next day.

Overall I succeeded on 4 of 6 tries. I also learned not to use polyester resin as that one blew up almost instantly.

Bye for now

Thanks, I have had everyone of my blanks fail using PR. Tried using white vinegar and muratic acid to "rough up" honeycomb with no luck. Sounds like PR is not going to work.

While Alumilite is the "Gold Standard" for casting blanks, I got the best finishes using Liquid Diamonds and Art-N-Glow resins.
