Okay, replaced the mixer shaft with a small brass rod of the smae diameter, Cut off the paint pickup tube and built a rack to hold my molds. Cast a couple test blanks yesterday. One set with very tight fitting delrin plugs came out fine, a set with not quite as tight a fit, the resin was pushed into the tubes. Charge the pot to 60psi and it held fine.

I'm trying again today using both delrin plugs and my resin saver mold. I filled both sets of tubes with Polymer Clay (what I had on hand) to keep the resin incursion to a minimum. Charged the pot to 55psi.

results coming latter.

Both are picture shy.....

On the left, More Dichro. Rainbow on Triton Tubes

On the Right, "Green Opal". What doesn't show well here is the blues, golds, and even darker greens and some reds that show up in the light. I will have more colors of "Opal" coming.

Castings are coming out really well, No bubbles as far as I can see. I spun two round and polished, and nothin so from now own I'll be sending them on with just a visual inspection and my personal guarantee. less time = more blanks available.

It'll be a couple days before the resin is fully cured and ready to polish (the one down side to the West systems epoxy).

BUT, here is another color I did a couple weeks back that had a bubble or two, the impetus for getting the pot.

More of a Mother of Pearl look to this one.

quick video that catches some of the color flash.

The camera just doesn't want to focus on it very well, or catch the color flashes. In some ways its worse than the Dichro.

Video of the Green Opal, and I think I see flashes of color!!!!! still doesn't like to focus though. :(

Couple of the other colors.

1 being the same as the pen above, kind of a mother of pearl, light blue opal.

The other I can only describe as Black Opal. Dark blues, greens and amber.
