So as not to hijack MesquiteMan's thread I thought I'd start a new one.
I think a DAMHIKT sticky would be just as (and maybe more) useful than a FAQ sticky.

I'll even start it out:

If you are going to preheat resin to make it easier to pour (and reduce bubbles) make sure the container that you are going to put the resin in will take the heat of the oven (DAMHIKT).

No matter how careful you may be, when filling molds with catalysed PR, it is very important to put a table cover over your maple top work bench.....DAMHIKT.

Addendum to Murphy's Law: The only time that large chunks of turning materials will fly off the lathe will always coincide with the only time you chose NOT to wear a face shield.

The only time that 5 minute epoxy will not cure to a workable state in one hour is when it is used on the most expensive blank in the shop and you are facing a hard deadline.

If you use denatured alcohol mixed with dye to dye casting material DON"T put it in a hot oven to speed up the drying...if you do, have a fire extinguisher close by

When beveling your table saw blade, make sure your miter gauge clears the blade before making the cut!
DAMHIKT

This one reminded me of something;
If you just installed a brand new blade on your table saw and on the first cut it starts smoking...check the direction of the saw blade's teeth...

When making round blanks out of thin material with a bandsaw, make sure your finger tips are NOT in line with the bandsaw blade when the blade exits the blank. Your fingernails are supposed to protect your fingers but they don't work too well against sharp blades. DAMHIKT

Especially important for SawStop users!

In the same vein, with mitre gauges that have adjustable fences. Make sure that after reseting to square from an angled cut, the fence won't touch the blade. DAMHIKT twice  .

Don't ever hold a pen blank in your hand and try to touch up the hole using your drill press. Especially without gloves. DAMHIKT.

When using a transfer punch and ball pin hammer to disassemble a stubborn pen, BE SURE to hold the blank AWAY from your mid section before striking the punch with the hammer.

If rule number one is NOT observed BE SURE to hit PUNCH with the hammer. Some parts of the male anatomy do not fare well when stuck by a hammer.

When drilling on the lathe, if you don't steady the chuck with one hand it may come out as you retract the tailstock.

First Aid tip; When closing a small shallow cut on your arm with CA (yes, you can do that, just make sure the two edges meet) do not use accelerator...it works BUT now you have a burn on top of the cut

Do not try to hold a stack of leather or cloth squares with your bare hands while soaking them with thin CA to make a blank no matter how careful you THINK you are. DAMHIKT

No matter how good you think you are. Bare skin always where you don't expect it, is a SUPER magnet for CA! DAMHIKT

Yes, sir it is. Popping an old cartridge in the trusty razor and shaving it off under hot water is actually a really effective tool for removing about 95% of it. DAMHIKT.
