I was walking through Ace Hardware today and noticed a shelf full of packages of different color paint chips used on garage floors after spreading epoxy. The chips are spread on top of the epoxy to add color and texture to the floor.

Has anyone tried using these paint chips for casting blanks?

If so any suggestions because I want to try but don't want to waste resin?

Thanks in advance.

I have made a few blanks with silmar 41 with no problems. I would suggest lightly stiring the resin and chips until it starts to thicken because the chips will sink and bunch up.

I think that is a very interesting idea and would be further interested in seeing (buying?) the results.

I like a pen blank made from a variety of different colors/sizes of plastic buttons also.
Can't get them anymore from a usual vendor in Canada and would be interested in getting them from someone else.

Keep me posted !
