Braided cable sleeve

I decided to try casting some black braided cable sleeve. After gluing the braided sleeve on the tube I realized that I should have painted the tube. I decided to go ahead and cast the tube just to see about adhesion, bubbles, etc. I mixed some Aztec gold pearlex to hide the brass that was showing through the sleeve. The end effect is pretty interesting, it is almost like a faux snakeskin.

What kind of cable was this. I do not see any hints of black. I cast just about every metal cable available.

It is a nylon sleeve, I cannot find my receipt to tell you exactly what it is. Here is a photo of the braiding.

No need I know what it is. next time use a black tube or blacken the tube. What looks cool too is if you use a silver tube and it shows through. I thought it was a metal braiding of some sort.
