The other half of my first blank blew apart while I was turning it. It had a nasty void inside the wooden portion of the blank that stabilization could not have fixed. Still I got one pen out of it that I have already shown in this forum.
This is the second blank I have cast with a lighter blue tint to the resin. Dressed with one of Smittys new long barrel Le Roi V2 in Gold Ti/Gun metal that I received this morning.
I think that next time I will shave the wooden portion of the blank a little thinner so the peaks and valleys are closer to the centerline of the blank to leave more resin swirls (is that the best way to do that or am I mistaken.
