Looks good to me. Very likely a similar formula to many of the PR compounds out there. May or may not work for clear casts, but for colored a definite yes. Nice find.

It is polyester resin, just not clear polyester designed specifically for clear casting. Will work just fine for colored work as will any other polyester based fiberglassing resin.

I have used "General Purpose" fiberglass resin with good results , As Curtis said it works well for color casting . Clear and lighter colored castings could be a problem but darker colors are perfectly alright .

It's hit or miss with Ocean State Job Lots around here. At one time I was buying 5 min. epoxy in the syringe style tubes for $1.50. They didn't last long (I got a lot of them) and I haven't seen any n there since. If you see it, buy it quick, as it may never be available there again.

What would the shelf life be on this? I bought 2 gals cans and they have 12 left. At $10.00 a gal. would it be worth while to buy more and keep stored?

Thanks for posting this Jack, made remember I had some left over fiberglass resin, so I just cast it up as it was 1.5 years old. IT was a bit thick, but seemed to cast OK - havent turned it yet

Resin generaly has a shelf life of 1 year if stored in a cool location , if you keep it cold you can keep it for a couple of years . If it is stored in normal temps though the shelf life is reduced .
