For those of you who have been waiting with bated breath (and all the rest of you also), here is our first BASH puzzler for 2017.

DO NOT POST YOUR GUESSES IN THIS THREAD - READ THE INSTRUCTIONS BELOW!

Your challenge for this puzzle is to identify the wood in the photo below. To help you out a little, it is one of the following 10 woods found in Texas - you just have to figure out which one:

Honey Locust
Mesquite
Pecan
Weeping Willow
Hickory
Camphor
Hackberry
Prickly Ash (Tickle Tongue)
Chinese Tallow
Alabama Suppleback

Now the rules for this puzzle:

The overall Puzzle Rules & Universal BASH Rules apply.

You may make only one guess, so take your time.

You must email your guess to iap.puzzles@gmail.com - your entry must contain your guess, your real first and last name, your IAP Screen name, and your email address. Invalid or multiple entries will be disqualified.

Here is a sample reply:

Email Subject: Puzzle #1
My guess for Puzzle #1 is: xxxxxx
John Doe
johndoerocks
johndoe at iknowmywood dot com

You have until NOON CST on Wed, Feb 15 so get your guesses in for this puzzle.

All correct guesses will earn one point toward the overall puzzle prize total and all correct guesses will go into a random draw for the two prizes available for this particular puzzle.

Banter is encouraged and may be posted in this thread.

Good luck & have fun.
Edgar

I see that you have figured out how to get your camera in focus this year . Now all you have to do is learn how to sand a blank .

That would have given it away :)

You need to do a virtual sanding in you mind.
