Default Purpose & Use of This Forum

Purpose and Use of the Fundraising Forum

Some members choose to contribute to the IAP by conducting auctions, raffles, drawings, etc. These activities can and have produced significant donations, and they're a lot of fun. Our extremely generous members always come through with great participation.

Pen blanks are by far the most popular items, but anything related to penturning is fair game. If you have an item you'd like to auction or raffle for the benefit of our organization, this is the forum to use.

The only request relates to things such as raffles, where a large number of small donations are received. It would be most convenient if the person conducting the activity makes a single payment of the proceeds.

Obviously this does not apply to auctions, where there is a only single payment. That payment can be made directly by the winner to the donations account, and the auctioneer will be notified that payment has been made so that the item(s) can be shipped. Include in the PayPal comments box something like; payment for so-and-so auction.

If you have any questions about how to conduct an auction or raffle, check with one of our members who does so frequently, or just observe one before you try it. If you're not sure whether or not a particular item might be suitable for raffle or auction, ask the friendly site administrator.
