Stand idea I had not seen yet

Base is a chunk of Bamboo flooring. The upper part is a bored out 7/8" dowel. Drill angle is 60 degrees with a 7/8" Forstner bit.

The upper dowel looks like bamboo too. Great looking!

Here is a pen done nearly 10 years ago with a bamboo stand. That bamboo stand came from a bamboo that was about 6 inches in diameter. (I was living in Japan at the time, so getting large bamboo was easy.) Still, I like your design!

this would be nice for a Desk Set. Maybe use deer horn or some other colored wood (college colors). They might sell very well.
