Does anyone make pens and letter openers and sell them as a set?/ If you do what box do you use???

Does anyone know of a nice classy box for a full size pen and a letter opener. (NO MAGNIFER) I am trying to avoid having to make boxes every time I want to make a set of these.

I think I will make this a 2 part question in case the already made box thing does not pan out. If I have to resort to making my own, does anyone know where I could buy some foam or felt or velvet pen fill material?? Again I know I can make something but want to try to save some time here in one method or other. Looking for something that says class and will not scratch a finish.

Thanks in advance.

I shop for my velvet and felt at Hobby Lobby or Jo Anne's Fabrics.

I get my foam for free from work ... but that wouldn't help you much...

May I assume you don't wish to purchase pre-made and finished boxes from Penn State? I notice that their boxes that are large enough for the letter opener (longest item of the three) are sized to fit all three items, but you don't want to include a magnifying glass ...

I have some clear acrylic bracelet boxes from a company ... tasteful top, double hinge closure, with a black felt covered cardboard base and two elastic black bands to retain the items ... I recall paying around 1 dollar each for them. They are longer than your typical pen box, and I found it annoying to have to remove and re-locate the elastic bands to properly hold my pens inside the box. On the other hand, I think it might be long enough that you could simply add another set of bands and have a pen and letter opener displayed side by side...

Room might be an issue, though. I had a Dragon Pen in one of these boxes before, with the felt bag stowed beneath the felt covered cardboard bottom, and the Dragon part of the clip was right up against the top of the box.

It's about 1 inch high, 1 and 7/8ths inches wide, and 9 inches long.

(aha, found my item on their site)

I made my letter opener's handle a bit long, I guess ... wont fit in the box. :)

Took the time to look through my links to find the company ....

Gems On Display

This one is their "Large Pen Box" .... 8 1/2" long, 2 1/2" wide, but only comes in a single pen holding format (63 - 69 cents each, depending on quantity)

From what I can tell, these are their only two offerings that would be able to display your work while closed and sealed... and may actually be long enough to hold both a pen and a letter opener.

I have modded the PSI "Fancy" pen box to hold two and three pens. It would easily hold a pen and opener. (I just checked...it is long enough to hold the "kit" opener I have at my desk. The ID length is 7.5".) Just remove the foam insert and replace with a wood insert that has two V-grooves, and cover with velvet. It presents two items very nicely with the window top.

I started making custom pen boxes last week. I am still learning and mine currently are only for slimlines, as that is all i have turned so far.. If you have the measurements of what you want the pen slot(s) to hold I can make them..

The ones pictured are made of pine, but I can make them out of any material I can get.. I have not decided yet if I want to line the pen slot with something.. I was thinking of flocking that area if I do though..

Hello Michael

Since I posted this I did some searching and have come upon a design I think I will be going with. I thank you for the offer but I will make them myself. Your boxes look very nice. good luck with them.
