Welcome to the 2016 Birthday BASH Puzzle Contest

In addition to the Universal Contest Rules, the contest rules are as follows:

This contest will offer 10 puzzles over a 2 week period for your puzzle-solving entertainment. It takes some time to generate and upload the puzzles, create the entry forms and to review and process your entries, so please be patient with the puzzle gurus.

When a new puzzle is posted, you will have at least 24 hours to solve it and submit your solution using the entry form or submittal process for that specific puzzle. Be sure to follow the submission instructions exactly or your entry will be disqualified. Note that the submission process will vary depending on the type of puzzle.

There is no hurry to solve any puzzle except to finish it before the time limit on that puzzle expires (minimum of 24 hours). All correct entries will earn 1 point. At the conclusion of the contest, the member with the most points wins. If there is a tie for the most points, the winner will be selected by random draw.

You may make only one entry per puzzle and once the time limit for a puzzle has expired, no further entries can be made for that puzzle.

1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes will be awarded based on the number of points earned during the contest:

First Place:

Gift Certificate #1 Exotic blanks $100.00 Gift certificate #4 Turn Tex $50.00

Second Place:

Gift Certificate #4 Classic Nib $50.00 Gift Certificate # 1 Rherral $50.00

Third Place:

Elegant pen kits Smitty $40.00 Alumiltie #3 2lb package Alumilite $36.00

In addition to the overall contest prizes, 2 prizes will be awarded for each individual puzzle. Winners of these individual puzzle prizes will be determined by a drawing from all correct entries for that puzzle. You may win only one individual puzzle prize during the contest.

Winners of an individual puzzle prize are still eligible to win one of the overall prizes, so don't quit playing if you win one of the individual puzzle prizes.

This contest will feature a combination of crossword, jigsaw and word-find puzzles and some wood Identification challenges. There might even be a bonus brain teaser or two that might or might not count toward the overall point total. Be sure to read the specific rules & instructions for each individual puzzle!!! If anything is not clear, please ask (but don't ask for any answers or extra hints :)).

Puzzles Will Start Tomorrow (Feb 16)

Now that you've had your Trivia warmups and some time to work on the Match The Pen Contest, get ready for the real BASH brain teasers. Yes, the long-awaited Puzzle Contests will start on Tuesday, Feb 16.

If you can solve a New York Times crossword puzzle in an hour or less, you should have a good chance of claiming a top prize in the BASH Puzzle Contest.

We plan to have a total of 10 puzzles for your "amusement" and you will have at least 24 hours to solve each one. Puzzles will be posted at varying times and intervals, and sometimes multiple puzzles might be active simultaneously. It takes some time for Curtis (Mesquiteman) to set up the entry forms & load each puzzle onto the BASH server, so please be patient.

To avoid brain shock, we will start out with a simple Wood Identification puzzle tomorrow and ease into to the harder puzzles.
