What vacuum pump for vac chucking?

I got a vacuum chuck a little while back and it came with a converter system-that you plug your compressor into and it converts the pressure into a vacuum--it doesn't cling to my wood very well, I wanted to see what type vacuum pump you folks are using for your vacuum chucking?

Any advice/input is welcome!

I bought my vacuum pump from here https://www.frugalvacuumchuck.com/.

You can buy an entire setup that is ready to go in just a few minutes out of the box or you can do what I did. I bought just the pump from him and put the rest of it together with other parts I bought elsewhere. There are also some other options on his site.

You will be very happy with it. Several members of my local turning club bought the entire kit and are very happy. That is how I found out about him.
