Just wondering if anyone has used this tool, and what your experiences may be with it. I've watched the videos on the Sorby site, and its looks so easy :D

Just remember that "looks can be deceiving." I have the bent shaft version and the straight shaft one as well. Both do as the Sorby video shows.

I use both a lot when turning my bowls. The bent shaft allows the turner to reach under the rim of a bowl a lot further than the straight shaft can.

Also, the bent shaft requires a bit of extra 'holding on to' when deep in a bowl. Finding the 'sweet spot' takes a bit of time to learn.

The circular scraper is great on both of them.

If you turn bowls I highly recommend both of these if the budget allows, if not, then get the straight shaft first and then do bigger 'stuff and get the bent shaft. Also, be sure to get a set of diamond honing bars to keep them sharp. [:D]
