Do any of you have the lathe tailstock swing away? I sometimes need to remove the tailstock, and it is HEAVY! However, I wonder if the short bed limits the usefulness of the swing away. Won't it be in the way when you need to be behind the lathe to execute the cut?

Your thoughts are most appreciated.

There's another option. One of the well known Turners on YouTube has a small cart on wheels. On top of the cart he built a short lathe bed out of wood at the exact height of his lathe. He moves the cart up to the lathe and slides the headstock from the lathe onto his homemade lathe bed and rolls it out of the way. When he does it he stands at the end of the bed so he can use his body to hold the cart against the lathe. It looked very easy to do and he doesn't need to lift anything.

I looked at the video, and

I thought it was a good idea; very ingenious, in fact, but I don't have room for a roll-around cart like that in my garage/shop.

So, I will ask the question again. Do any P2020 users have the swing-away for the tail stock, and do you like it?
