Has anyone ever used this? I would like something to work on more segmenting. I have a 9" and a 14" bandsaw, but just don't seem to get the 'perfect' square cut consistently. This seems like it may be great, especially with the small footprint of the machine. The dinky motor on it is a concern, but I imagine it will do fine for blanks.

For all intense in purpose, this in the same saw

From what I've read it is way underpowered and the depth is limited to just over 1/2".

It should be called the Wimpy Micro. I tried one and found it virtually worthless. It was too underpowered to cut through much of anything. Depth of cut was also a limitation. I generally try to give products the benefit of the doubt, but I can't imagine any use for this except maybe for balsa wood that is less than 3/4" thick.

I personally think that is an understatement! I have one and agree. Nice idea, but not nearly enough power for anything but balsa wood.

You know, if we could make this post a "sticky" it would save a lot of folks from asking the exact same question and a lot of folks going out and buying this saw only to return it the next day.

Without knowing any better, I too fell victim to this “neat little saw†while at Harbor Freight one day. The first 8 seconds of trying to cut a wood blank told me that it was worthless!

Monty,
I think this is the HF version:
http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=93211

I have the little cutoff saw and use it to cut pen tubes. For that it does just fine. It probably is too small for anything else.

Thanks for catching that. That's the one I ment to post. That's what I get for not paying close enough attention.

This is what I have:

This is a real precision saw. I use it in my wooden ship modeling, for cutting planking and framing. It's spendy but it's no toy compared to the others. Highly recommended if you have the $$$$

Both the PSI and HF saw are a waste of $$. I had the HF saw and it would not cut a pen blank. If a really good small table saw is needed, then this is also an excellent choice: <http://www.ares-server.com/Ares/Ares.asp?MerchantID=RET01229&Action=Catalog&Type=Product&ID=80463>
I know some guys who have this saw and it performs very well.
Do a good turn daily!

I have this one as well. There's nothing better. Even the Proxxon can't touch it. It is a serious machine. The mic head, the extended rip fence and the miter extension are musts.
