I noticed the other day that the Pen plus jaw set I have is numbered 1 and 4
If I were to mount them on the numbered jaws they would be right next to each other.

Do the stamped position numbers matter for the Pen plus jaws?

Yeah that is a problem I guess. Not much I can do about it now since I've had them for 2 years and didn't notice till now.

Thats odd as the nova website pictures them opposite each other.

Not really all that odd Bobby. Vast majority of their jaws are 4 piece and cut from a single billet so they'll align correctly. The pen jaws, being just a pair it isn't necessary to get a close minimum fit, so the numbering doesn't matter--but they must be cut from billets that are numbered anyway. I'm not taking mine off to check!!

I believe they have to be opposing numbers because of the way the scroll part matches.

Call Nova and explain it to them.

I had a scroll body for a few years until I discovered the jaw carriers were too loose in the ways and the pen jaws would not clamp correctly.
They sent me a new scroll body at no charge.
