Jet 1440VS

Anyone here have a 1440vs lathe? I've got a 1221vs and it's great. It just isn't long enough for some of the projects I want to do. I also like the idea of the swiveling head stock when doing large projects...bowls, hollow forms. I thought about an extension and asked my Jet dealer if the current extension would fit my lathe that is 9 years old? He didn't think so. He doesn't stock an extension for me to try. He'll order me one but if it doesn't fit, it'll be an expensive restocking fee.

Anyway, does anyone have one out there? Thoughts?
