Some time ago I posted that I had bought the HF 13 cuft dust collector. This is how it came out. The blower is just outside my shop which is partitioned off room in the garage. I have it in a box so that the top of the box becomes a shelf. The Collection line goes straight into lathe table with only one elbow in the line. Vacuum is terrific. The top at the lathe is a little jury rigged but works really well. Amazing what a little duct tape can do and the collector swivels from side to side and up and down. Would like to have a chip collector but that is impossible unless I rid the shop of some larger equipment.

Just curious, is there some kind of opening left in that box for the air to get out? Is that back end left open? With your pictures, it looks like it might be totally enclosed and I'm wondering where all that air getting run through the bag is going.

Thank you!!! Someone else is paying attention. I did not want to bring this up again because I sound like a broken record. The use of a Dust collector is more involved than one thinks to get max %%%% out of it.

Do you have some sort of screen or barrier between the intake and the impeller? If not, a whole pen blank down the chute is gonna make a ruckus

Maybe some 1/4" square hardware cloth / wire mesh over the intake would work?

There's a grid at the intake. Also the box is half open at one end.
