flea market find

got lucky this weekend, found a 1/4" bowl gouge for $3.00.
Now to decide if it gets a fingernail or regular grind.

Depends on what you are usinf it for. Have a pointy fingernail that is the favorite for ornament finials. For pens, probably a regular grins (as well as for beads on the side of small bowls).

It's always nice to have that extra edge for scraping cuts or whatnot when you need it quickly, without having to switch tools.

I have been doing flea markets, antique shops and yard sales for years.
I have found 1 small face plate, one tiger maple 2x2x16 blank, and this.
I see a ton of junk tools but pass on those.
