I have a friend who has a sentimental bowling ball that, when I showed him a pen I had made with a bowling ball blank, said he'd love to have one made out of his old bowling ball. He's not real tool or shop savvy, much like me, but we know someone whose saws and stuff we could get access to. The problem we thought about is how would you stabilize the bowling ball to at least make that one first cut to give you a flat side? Has anyone done this and if so, any advice?
