This is a great chuck from PSI and should handle anything you can turn on a 1014.
Barracuda3 Micro Lathe Key Chuck System at Penn State Industries That said I also have a Nova midi and it is terrific, the tommy bars aren't that hard to get used to. Both of these chucks are for my Jet 1220. For my DVR-XP I use the Super Nova2. |

![]() I'll look at these. Thanks! Has anyone ever used Grizzly chucks? They are a little less expensive...but is this an example of "You get what you pay for"? |

I have the PSI utility chuck which sells for $89 and takes the same jaws as their baracuda chuck. It does everything I want to and am now on my forth bowl and all goes well. Also note I picked up the dovetail jaws which are really nice to hold things especially internally so you can expand with limited pressure and not crack the wood (which I have done). I also agree it is nice to have more than one chuck to have more than one set of jaws installed ready to use because swaping jaws does take some time. But this chuck is a good option if you are on a tight budget.
Also since you asked I recently read a post that gave good reviews to the grizzly chucks as well. |
