In case you dont have a child handy Im sure the orphanage will be glad to lend you one! For those of you that do have children young enough to enter get out in the shop and get started! Stay safe and have fun, its a great way to spend a great time with your child.

I feel so bad for one of my kids. He spent over 4 hours on his pen. He's a GREAT kid - and he moves at his own pace. He'll take 45 minutes to eat a PB&J when the rest of us will finish one in 3 minutes. Thus, the 4 hours. Anyway, back to this story. Pen is turned, sanded, finished, polished . . . Then he went to press the pieces together and CRACK . . .

I'll just say he seems to have taken it better than I have . . .

He's ready to try again tomorrow!

That young man is alot stronger then some of the turners I know.

Let him get another blank and do it again. I am sure he has seen you fail and then succeed. Now it is his turn to step up and show everyone he can do it.

Wishing him the best.

Hope his next one turns out better. We goofed during assembly with my daughters but thankfully after some cursing of myself and a bit of hammering we were able to make the fix.

2 out of 3 kids are done. I don't know if #3 is going to make it - homework and a few other activities have kept her busy the past 2 weeks . . .

Come on kids. Get those pens done and entered.

The Mn Chapter of the IAP promises that you won't be disappointed with the prizes this year. We wish we could tell you more......however, the members want to really surprize you. We just hope that the parents have a camera ready to capture the moment you open your boxes.
