For those of you that use sanding sealer, what do you use?

The reason I'm asking is that I was using a can of Woodrich that I really liked until it thickened up on me.:good:

I tried some water based. Not good.:bad:

I am now using Zinzer Bullseye (it's a shellac and alcohol mixture). I have a sample of Mylands which doesn't act a whole lot different than the Bullseye.

I make my own for general turning from Blonde dewaxed Shellac flakes and denatured alcohol.
2 ounces of shellac dissolved in 1 pint of alcohol will give you a 1lb cut.
Only mix in small quantities as it does go off after a while. You can mix it thinner as I do for some applications or go to a 2lb cut (4 ounces to 1 pint) for a thicker mix.

Once you start mixing your own sealer you can move easily on to making your own friction and finishing polishes and save a bit of cash in the process.
