Ok, I give up. How do you get CA to stick to this wood? If the answer is (as I suspect) "you can't," then what do you use to finish it? I was just starting to have some success with CA finishes when I ran headlong into this wood.

weather can sometimes be a factor. I haven't worked with that wood, but I've been using CA recently on amboyna burl and sometimes it works great, sometimes it just doesn't bond (it was raining that day).

Try wiping the wood barrel with accelerator before applying your CA finish.

i use a good amount of acetone between MM,that will dry the wood pretty good before applying CA.i use this method on very oily woods,

I have done some Myrtle burl, and didn't have any issues with finish sticking. But I use only enduro.
