Default Static

I have a problem in that after I've finished a pen be it a CA finish or acrylic I'm plagued with static so when I photograph the pen, no matter how carefully I clean, I can always see specks of dust on the finish.
I'm loathe to apply any kind of antistatic spray in case it spoils the finish.
Anyone come across the same problem and found a solution?

Wipe it with a fresh dryer sheet.
