stabilized black ash burl issue

I've not had this issue yet with stabilized woods and am hoping for some feedback.

No matter how much sanding and polishing with both Micromesh and Meguirs PlastX, these dullish spots won't clear up.

Any thoughts?

If you used CA as a finish . you have sanded through it at the dull spots . If you haven`t , you are probably seeing different levels of stabilization within the blank . Softer areas of the wood would have more stabilizer and probably polish to a higher gloss . The cure for that would be to put on a CA finish .

CA was only used on tear outs. Thanks for the input. I thought of glossing over it with CA but since it is going on a Majestic Jr FP, I didn't want to have issues with it later if it might be a problem with the resin in the blank itself. Perhaps I'll put on the CA and set it aside for awhile before assembly.
