Question about general finishes Woodturners finish.

I have searched though the multiple threads about wtf but never saw an answer if you could use something under it to seal and shine. I have used blo and "shine juice" under wtf but I am new to turning pens and not sure of longevity of the finish. I am not a fan of ca plastic look and wife is allergic so I like the benefits of wtf it just doesn't bring out the Rays in some burls, where the blo or shine juice comes in. I apologize for another wtf post I just don't want to sell something or give it as a gift if the finish is going to fail.

Never used the stuff but sure folks here have. Looks like pretty straight forward application. Second link has a video!

Hi Brent,

As a vendor for the product, I have done some experimenting with it, including using BLO to bring out wood figure. It does not seem to effect the adhesion of the WTF. Logically, since WTF was derived from a floor product and there are dozens of woods used for flooring--I BELIEVE it will be durable enough for pens--I seldom walk on my pen, and I hope most customers don't either.:biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:
